On Tuesday, June 28th I'll be having an intimate reading of my newest play Your Blood Stop Stutters at ESPA/Primary Stages.
The reading will be directed by Miles Mandwelle and will feature Michael Labbadia and Clare O'Malley.
YOUR BLOOD STOP STUTTERS
It ended viciously. HE is dead, but SHE is still alive. Now HE can only exist in her dreams. In a surreal dreamscape of New York City and Florence, Italy , HE and SHE re-live the moments of ecstasy, poignancy, and brutality that wove together the fabric of their failed relationship with the hope that they can find redemption.
A free-association stream-of-consciousness romance that repeats itself for eternity. "Your Blood Stop Stutters" asks, "When it feels like every millenial love story has already been told, how can we find a sense of truth amidst the cliche?"
Scratching will have it's New York Premiere this Summer as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
Directed by Ria T. DiLullo and produced by The Skeleton Rep.
Scratching is a millennial drama about the lives of two brothers whose pasts and futures intersect, causing a downward spiral of drugs, violence, illegal tattoos, unrequited love and the chance for redemption. We open on the trailer of Brianna, a smart girl dumbed down to stripping for a living. Her boyfriend, Christian, is working on the sketches for an illegal tattoo, which he now gives in the trailer after a cocaine-induced slip of his hand blacklisted him from licensed parlours. Brianna and Christian’s meager lives begin spiraling out of control when Christian’s ex-fiancé–– New York actress, Tracy–– arrives in town with a new ring on her finger and the desire to get Christian back. It is then that Adrian, Christian’s brother, enters the mix with a bag of MDMA that promises financial stability. A doomed circle of unrequited love unfolds between the four of them, causing Adrian and Christian to confront the past, the present, and ultimately each other.
